On Jan. 4, Kena Shriners of Manassas donated $28,051 to Shriners Hospital for Children (SHC)-Philadelphia. First Lady of Kena Theresa McGrath spearheaded a yearlong “Make a Difference” campaign which included raffles, emblematic sales, an online website, virtual Ladies Luncheon, private, club and corporate donations. This year’s focus for the Kena First Lady’s Program was Surgical Services at SHC-Philadelphia. Potentate Geoffrey Lyster stated that “we are extremely proud of First Lady Theresa and all the Kena members for their continuing generosity, despite these tumultuous times.”

The Kena Shriners chapter headquartered in Manassas is part of Shriners International. They represent all the Shriners of Northern Virginia, including Prince William, Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun and Fauquier Counties. Shriners International maintains a network of 22 non-profit medical facilities across North America who treat pediatric patients with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate, regardless of their ability to pay.
