Members of Kline Engineering & Consulting, LLC, a structural engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Manassas, are among the featured presenters at the upcoming national convention of the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) in Minneapolis. The presentations to engineers and contractors will showcase Kline Engineering’s expertise in the specialty field of post-tensioned concrete construction.

The PTI Convention is a four-day event dedicated entirely to post-tensioning with technical sessions, committee meetings, networking events and an industry trade show.

Katherine Farley

Katherine Farley, associate engineer, and Layth Hussein, project manager, will share a case study about Kline Engineering’s award-winning work on The Arundel, a 15-story, 233-unit luxury apartment building in Hanover, Maryland. Farley was the lead engineer for the design phase and Hussein was the lead engineer through the construction phase.

Don Kline, P.E., principal of Kline Engineering, is scheduled to address a session of the PTI Convention on May 9. An internationally-recognized expert on the design and construction of post-tensioned concrete, Kline will discuss best practices and benefits of post-tensioning for temperature and shrinkage reinforcement in one-way slabs.

Layth Hussein

“Layth, Katherine and I are honored to speak before such a prestigious and knowledgeable group of participants at the PTI Convention,” said Kline, an active member of PTI and director/chair of its Technical Advisory Board. “We look forward to collaborating with our peers and colleagues in the field of post-tensioned concrete design and construction.”
