Summer water polo program kicks off their inaugural season with programs for adults and kids

Lake Ridge, VA. June 9, 2015. There weren’t any horses- but participants at a June 8th program had a fantastic time trying polo, anyway. Water polo, a unique, fun summer activity, is the newest sport being offered for children in Prince William County, and while a horse isn’t required, you’ll probably want to bring some sunscreen.

This unique sport is being offered by Lake Ridge Water Polo, headed by Coach Randy Cooper, in cooperation with Lake Ridge Swim Club and the Lancers Swim Team. The inclusive, co-ed program will introduces area children of any age to the skills and rules needed to having a great time playing water polo. The youngest swimmers will be given floatation aids to help them as they learn the sport. Adults can participate, too, with drop-in games held each Sunday for just $6.50 per person.

About Lake Ridge Water Polo

Headed by Coach Randy Cooper, Lake Ridge Water Polo (LRWP) began by holding pick-up water polo games at local Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation pools. As interest in the sport was recognized, Cooper searched for opportunities to expand the club’s offerings and begin growing a community of water polo players in the eastern Prince William County area. Now, in cooperation with the Lake Ridge Swim Club and Lake Ridge Swim Team, Lake Ridge Water Polo has graduated into a start-up sports club capable of providing water polo opportunities for participants of various ages.
