On Monday, May 30 at 6:27 a. m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a townhouse fire located in the 15700 block of Lansdale Place in Montclair.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue units observed fire burning in the rear of three townhomes. Firefighters commenced fire suppression and extinguished the fire.

No injuries to residents; one firefighter sustained a minor foot injury and was treated and released.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, a total of six townhomes sustained damage; two townhomes were a total loss, one had significant damage and three additional townhomes had minor damage to the vinyl siding; preliminary damages are estimated at $500,000.

Red Cross was on scene to assist eight adults and five children displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
