Head to Occoquan for a launch party for the novel City of Peace by Henry G. Brinton. The event will be held Wednesday, April 3 at the Occoquan Town Hall (314 Mill Street, Occoquan).
The launch of this Occoquan-based murder mystery will begin at 7:30 p. m. with a short talk and set of readings, followed by a response by Mayor Earnie Porta about the line between fact and fiction in the novel. The event will end with a book-signing. Copies of City of Peace will be available for purchase.
The event is without charge. All profits from the sale of City of Peace by Fairfax Presbyterian Church will go towards the service work being performed in Honduras by “Men y Mujeres on a Mission,” a co-ed team from the church. These men and women travel to Honduras every year to deliver medications to clinics, provide medical care to poor Hondurans, and perform construction work at a Christian camp for youths in the city of La Entrada de Copan.
City of Peace (Koehler Books, March 15, 2019, $16.95, 242 pages) is a gripping and fast-paced mystery that engages readers from both sides of the aisle politically and spiritually, leaving them with fresh insight into how they can overcome polarizing divisions today.
