Letters of Hope announced its First Annual Online Fundraising Event, called Hopeful Giving, starting Dec. 19 at 9:00 a. m., through Dec. 30. Donors can donate to the organization’s Amazon Wishlist or Givelify Campaign. Proceeds will be used to donate gifts to a homeless shelter in the Prince William County area, and monetary donations go directly to the organization to buy supplies to create encouraging letters.

“Our hope is to touch the lives of people, one letter at a time., said founder Michelle Soto. “We can make a large difference with just a small gesture of hope.”

The event will feature stories of hope via online social media outlets, spread encouraging words and connect with organizations to supply letters to in the future.  Letters of Hope is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to spread hope through hand-written encouraging letters to individuals dealing with hardships. The organization’s motto is “words matter” and they believe a set of words can change a person’s life and mindset. Each letter is hand-written with positive, encouraging words that can help individuals tackle any hard situation.
