Lindendale Road Fire Incident

On Monday, September 22nd, at approximately 5:00 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a single family home located in the 13800 block of Lindendale Road in Woodbridge.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue units observed smoke showing from the front of the home. Firefighters entered the home and discovered fire in the basement that extended to the stairs. Firefighters proceeded to attack and extinguish the fire while searching for further extension. No further extension was found.

No injuries reported.

County Police assisted with traffic control.

Red Cross was called to the scene to assist 3 adults and 2 children displaced by the fire.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at approximately $50,000.

A Building Inspector was on site and has posted the home unsafe.

The Fire Marshal’s Office has investigated the fire and has designated the fire undetermined at this time.

 Install smoke detectors on every level within the home including the basement.

 Test smoke detectors monthly and replace batteries as needed.

 Change batteries when you change clocks (spring and fall).

 Replace smoke detectors every 10 years.
