Manassas artist John Hartt will display his collection “A Trip to the Zoo” at the McCall Studio Gallery for a solo art exhibition through July. Hartt is known for his quirky and colorful oil paintings which can frequently be seen in Old Town shops, town hall, and even on the light poles lining Main Street.

“A Trip to the Zoo” brings to life the animals around us with a twist. This colorful look at the strange and enchanting creatures that swim, fly and crawl out of the imagination of the artist known as Jortt is sure to put a smile on the faces of both young and old.

“I’m really excited to have a solo art show in Manassas,” said Hartt. “This is where I live and work. Displaying my collection here gives me a chance to share my passion for painting with the people I know and love.”

The dates for Hartt’s show are July 1-31. The opening reception is Friday, July 6, from 6:00-9:00 p. m.. The McCall Studio Gallery is located at 9409 Battle Street in historic downtown Manassas, and is open from 12:00-5:30 p. m. Tuesday through Saturday.
