Local author Dan Verner announced the January release of the fourth novel in the Beyond the Blue Horizon series, On the Wings of Grace. The story continues the adventures of pilot Otto Kerchner, known to readers from the first trilogy of the series, On Wings of the Morning, On the Wings of Eagles, and On the Wings of Angels, as he experiences a bus accident involving his baseball team that turns out to be an act of sabotage, the theft of his children’s pony, a rescue from Cuba, the shooting of several members of his family, a crash landing, an appearance by Amelia Earhart, an outbreak of meningitis in their aviation camp, the reappearance of an old lover and other changes for everyone in the book.
Familiar characters and a warmly written story make this volume a worthy successor to the first three books. Altogether the series paints a picture of American history, families and the changes they went through during the 1940’s and ‘50’s. PWL Readers young and old will once again be transported to a world that no longer exists, but which comes alive in the continuing story of this remarkable family and their friends.
