Local author Nathaniel C. Nelson recently published his first children’s book to highlight the importance of friendship and relationships. “My Friend, Thomas Carl,” published by Austen-McCauley Publishers, tells the story inspired by Nathaniel’s life of how he overcame loneliness and fear through the adoption of his cat. Though told through the lens of a young man’s friendship with his cat, this charming story demonstrates how friendship and acceptance can come from anywhere.

This story will inspire young readers (and adults) to think more about the importance of friendship and giving everyone a chance. It also reminds us that, no matter our size, we can all have a positive impact on others.

“Being an author is extremely personal to me,” said Nathaniel. “I wish to use life’s experiences to inspire others. We all experience the same joy, happiness, sadness, and grief. If we can learn something from each experience, we can, together, become stronger and usher in greater hope.”

“My Friend, Thomas Carl” is available at all major literary outlets, including Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Bookshop.org. More information on the book is available at the publisher’s website or at Nathaniel’s website.
