Alice Haeske, a sixth-grade student at Lake Ridge Middle School, is competing as one of 16 finalists in the National Number Knockout (N2K) competition. The competition will take place on May 1, in three rounds of mental number crunching during a cruise to the Bahamas. All finalists have been through rigorous local and regional competitions to reach the finals. The winner will receive a $10,000 grand prize.

“I am honored and thankful to get to do something like this,” Alice said. “I still can’t believe it!”

Alice’s favorite subjects are science and math, she plays viola in the Lake Ridge Middle School orchestra, and is a swimmer who has qualified for the Junior Olympics in the breast stroke.

The National Number Knockout competition is hosted by Classical Conversations®, Inc.
