The Loft at Potomac Town CenterBy Stephanie Tipple

The LOFT opened it’s doors Saturday, April 8th, to celebrate the grand opening of their new “concept” store, located in Stonebridge at the Potomac Town Center.

As part of the celebration, the store featured style celebrity guests Michelle Thomas, the Associate Fashion Editor of Washingtonian, Natalie & Erika from thefashionablybroke.com, and Casie Mace from whippedstyle.com. To get the party started a DJ was called in to play the latest chart singles and high energy remixes, along with a catered staff to serve appetizers and strawberry lemonade.

There was a bonus incentive for those looking to make a purchase on opening day; a special gift for anyone who purchased more than $75 worth of merchandise.

Professional shopper that I am, I made sure to stop in to the opening, and was greeted with tons of bright colors, prints and work separates – perfect for the D.C. professional woman who is looking to update her Spring and Summer wardrobe. The trends that we featured on our Spring trend article coincided with the merchandise on display, reaffirming the popular presence of bright abstract floral patterns and orange – the It color of the season.

Petites are plentiful at the Loft

One unique offering that the LOFT featured at the opening was their expansive petite section, for a woman who is big in personality, but not so big in height. The only obvious downside to the LOFT store is their obvious lack of plus sizes (they only carry up to size 14), which can leave many modern women out in the unseasonable April cold.

Stop in and see what the LOFT has to offer you this season; budget friendly work wear in bright colors with a specialization in petite sizing.
