On Tuesday, May 3, at 6:23 p. m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to reports of a building collapse in the 9500 block of Lomond Drive in Manassas.
Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews observed a vehicle crashed through a house triggering an active gas leak due to the gas meter being sheared off during the vehicle’s impact. All occupants of the home were immediately evacuated while firefighters further investigated the incident.
No injuries reported.
Red Cross was on scene to assist the family, five adults, four children and four pets, displaced by the collision.
The house sustained moderate damage; the specialized Prince William County Technical Rescue teams built a two post vertical shore to stabilize the structure.
A Building Official was on scene and has posted the home unsafe.
The incident is currently under investigation by Prince William County Police.
