Lynwood Drive Fire Incident

On Sunday, May 17th, at approximately 5:00 p.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a single-family home located in the 5000 block of Lynwood Drive in Woodbridge.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue units found significant fire conditions on the second floor with fire blazing through the roof at the rear of the home. Units from Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue, Dale City VFD, Occoquan, Woodbridge & Lorton VFD, and Dumfries – Triangle VFD made a quick attack and knockdown of the heavy fire conditions. Firefighters searched for further extension; no extension was found.

There were no occupants at home during the time of the fire and no injuries reported.

Red Cross was notified to assist 2 adults, displaced by the fire.

A Building Official posted the building unsafe.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire and has ruled the home a total loss.
