Over the last year, Mary Helen Dellinger, Curator of the Manassas Museum, has been working with the Virginia Museum of History & Culture (VMHC) on their new multi-million dollar, long-term exhibit – Our Commonwealth.  Items from the Manassas Museum collection will be featured in the Northern Virginia portion of the exhibit.

“This has been a year-long process working with the VMHC to create this exhibit about our state,” said Mary Helen Dellinger.  “It is an honor for the Manassas Museum to be a part of this project and we look forward to attending the grand opening in 2022.”

Our Commonwealth, located in the Virginia Museum of History & Culture in Richmond, will be divided into galleries for Northern Virginia, Central Virginia, Southwest Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley and the Tidewater area.  Each region will have immersive arts, culture, food, music, industry and people featured from their region of the state.  This is the first collaborative effort by the VMHC to produce an exhibit by curators from the different districts in the state.  A grand opening will be announced in 2022.
