At the start of the new year, we hung the debut of the Coates Ellis family art collection in preparation for Theresa Coates Ellis’s Honorary Councilwoman’s Reception. The reception was held after the Swearing in Ceremony Jan. 2 at City Hall in Manassas.

Over thirty people came to the reception, and to see then exhibit. Although this event is over, you can still visit the exhibit during January at The McCall Studio Gallery during Gallery exhibit hours, 12:00- 5:30 p. m.

A story is told through the art collected and created by generations of family. We are happy to showcase more Salvador Dali art in this community exhibit. It was not long ago when Theresa visited the Gallery and took our private collection art tour. We discussed a possible exhibit with her, because of the shared collection of Salvador Dali, and her family arts.

Combining the exhibit with her Councilwoman reception added another unique aspect to this special show. Creativity runs in the family.  We are also featuring multimedia art “American Reflexxx – Short Film” by Alli Coates. The exhibit showed in Paris during October 2015, and received honors throughout Europe. This piece will show in February 2019 at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York.
