New Grants for Prince William County Businesses

The Prince William County Department of Economic Development, in partnership with the Mason Small Business Development Center (Mason SBDC), has launched a Small Business Technical Assistance Program (SBTAP). The technical assistance program will ensure small business viability through increased productivity and management systems, especially as it relates to making informed business decisions to withstand the economic impacts of COVID-19.

Prince William County will cover up to $10,000 for technical services in the following areas:

Digital Marketing and E-Commerce 

  • Online shop maintenance
  • SEO keyword targeting, site content and page optimization

IT Services 

  • Cybersecurity risk assessment & training
  • Application Integration

The SBTAP strengthens the opportunity for business success with start-to-finish guidance from subject matter experts. Program participants will access free business counseling with a Mason SBDC counselor to determine technical improvements needed to enhance business operations.  From the one-on-one counseling through implementation of new operations systems, the technical assistance program is designed to be strategic and effective. Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have a physical location in Prince William County
  • Must be a for-profit business
  • Must have 25 or fewer employees
  • Must be current on PWC business taxes
  • Adult entertainment business are not eligible

Businesses have access to a range of technical services that can be easily and quickly implemented. Services will only be offered from October until December 2020, so interested businesses need to act now. The earlier a business can complete the counseling session, the earlier the business can receive services.
