A new, four-story, mixed-use development project is coming to Downtown Manassas.
Known as the “Harris Building,” this project will convert an existing, privately-owned parking lot at 9414 Battle St. into three new retail storefront and 16 apartment units. The three floors of residences above the planned restaurant/retail space will feature 1-2 bedrooms, outdoor balconies, and range from 650 square feet to 1,200 square feet.
The project site and adjacent office building are owned by local cardiovascular specialist Dr. Mohammed Azim and his wife Naija Azim, who recently received full architectural and permit approval for the new mixed-use building. Work has begun preparing the site and clearing away the old building foundation from the original building (built in 1910), which many in Manassas will recall has been demolished in stages over the years.
The Harris II building will bring new restaurant space and vibrant, engaging building design to a bustling Downtown Manassas that has seen several new business openings this summer, strong real estate performance, and a run of exciting outdoor special events. The City looks forward to assisting the Azims and their contractors throughout the process as well as collaborating with developers interested in other Historic Downtown Manassas opportunities.
