Travelers should expect lane closures and intermittent full closures lasting about 15 minutes each during overnight hours tonight. During these closures, crews will permanently close the existing Opitz Boulevard slip ramp from the I-95 general purpose lanes to the 95 Express Lanes, and the opening of a new slip ramp just south near Dale Boulevard.

At or about 10 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Dec. 7 until about 5 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 8, a double left lane closure will occur on the I-95 general purpose lanes from about mile marker 155 to mile marker 157. Between midnight and 3 a.m., up to five intermittent full closures lasting about 15 minutes each are also scheduled to occur.

Drivers should plan ahead and use caution if traveling through this area, and should also pay extra attention while getting acclimated with using the new slip ramp.

This new ramp is part of the 95 Express Lanes Opitz Boulevard Ramp project, which involves constructing a south-facing, reversible ramp between the 95 Express Lanes and an expanded Opitz Boulevard (Route 2000) bridge. The 95 Express Lanes Opitz Boulevard Ramp project is being delivered as part of the 95 Express Lanes public-private partnership between the Commonwealth and Transurban.
