With August comes back to school and all the first day jitters. This year the kiddos weren’t the only ones with that feeling as all of HMI’s staff, both old and new, started in new positions. But that doesn’t mean things slowed down any in Historic Downtown Manassas, where end of summer events are still in full swing!
There are a variety of fun-filled day and evening activities scheduled through the end of the summer (with fall events soon to follow). From live music to food festivals to antique car shows there’s something for everyone to enjoy and savor the final weeks of summer.
Finally, thank you to Peppy Kazhoyan Cummings of First Command for her support of Historic Downtown Manassas and her sponsorship throughout the summer.

Malena Malone Blevins
With more than 20 years’ experience in event and meeting planning, Malena brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Historic Manassas. Before joining HMI Malena held event management positions at several prominent companies including American Alliance of Museums and Boxwood Estate Winery.
Christine Cimino, Marketing & Communications Manager
Christine Cimino
Christine is a seasoned marketing, communications, and public relations professional with 20-plus years’ experience promoting travel, tourism, and leisure activities. She has worked for a variety of nonprofit, corporate, and government organizations, including the Smithsonian Institution and most recently, the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia.
Maria Bopp, Administrative Assistance
Maria Bopp
Maria has recently returned to Virginia after completing her master’s degree in criminology from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. She is a certified ESOL instructor and speaks fluent Spanish, Italian, and Catalan.
