Drivers can expect overnight lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-66 between Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) and I-495 Tuesday through Saturday nights, July 17-21.
Weather permitting, crews will remove overhead gantries including the speed advisory and “red x/green arrow” signs from the Active Traffic Management System to allow for I-66 express lanes construction.  Crews will also reconfigure lane markings to transition the current shoulder lane to a fourth travel lane during construction of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway project. The lane will be available to drivers during peak periods and at other hours when not needed for construction-related lane closures.
The “red x/green arrow” lanes outside the Beltway are expected to remain operational until Friday evening, July 20.

Current HOV-2 rules continue to remain in effect for the HOV lane during the posted hours.
