Northern Virginia Sail and Power Squadron Announces Free Boating Safety Seminars

Lean about boating safety at free seminars to be held at the Alexandria West Marine Store on the last Saturday of the month, July through October. Classes will be taught by the Northern Virginia Sail and Power Squadron (NVSPS). 9:30 a. m – 12:00 noon.

The squadron supports community veterans programs by providing day cruises, sponsoring youth programs like Sea Scouts (ages 14-21) of the Boy Scouts of America and provides courtesy safety inspections of non-commercial boats through free Vessel Safety Checks at marinas, clubs and public boat ramps. The squadron participates in the National Capital Boat Show, and offers boating safety and skills seminars.

The squadron holds membership meetings that are free and open to the public, highlighted by guest speaker presentations on a variety of topics and plan educational field trips.
