Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) connects families and individuals with the resources they need to create a solid foundation of well-being, reach their full potential and contribute back to our community.

On May 12, 2017, NVFS gathered at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner with business and community leaders to honor two remarkable individuals in our community: former U.S. Representative Frank Wolf, recipient of NVFS’s Legend of Northern Virginia Award, and Leadership Fairfax President and CEO Karen Cleveland, recipient of NVFS’s Community Champion Award.

The event also focused on the impact that NVFS has made on Northern Virginia families, including firsthand testimonials from individuals who have benefited through NVFS’s programs.

Mandi and Aaron Brown, NVFS Foster Care parents, shared with the approximately 500 guests in attendance: “Because of NVFS, we are able to build our family both with ‘forever’ children through adoption and ‘forever in our heart’ children through foster care. NVFS will always hold a special place in our hearts!”

Guests contributed more than $600,000 through silent and live auctions, and a live appeal, to help lift families out of poverty and create a stronger, more vibrant community for all.
