The Town of Occoquan has big news! Their brand-new RiverFest event (originally slated for June) will be combined with the Fall Arts & Crafts Show in September. Two amazing events will converge into one spectacular weekend festival in the beautiful historic riverside town.
The newly-renamed Occoquan RiverFest & Craft Show will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020. It will be a fantastic celebration to the end of summer.
The COVID-19 pandemic has strengthened the Town’s resolve to keep Occoquan thriving. As a riverside town built on the American dream of small business, they plan to pivot and reinvent themselves. Events Director Julie Little said, “There is no better way to showcase the might and savvy of Occoquan than to create a new event… [This one will] bring together our small-town pride, our businesses, and our river-loving values into one spectacular weekend festival full of fresh air and family fun.”
At the RiverFest & Craft Show
Occoquan’s RiverFest & Craft Show will include an Artisan’s Walk where patrons can browse juried art and craft vendors. A vendor Marketplace will be dedicated to conservation and outdoor water sports. Other activities include live entertainment, two food courts, a beer garden, a shrimp boil, river cruises, a climbing wall, and stand-up paddleboard and kayak slalom races. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
The public should continue to support Occoquan’s small businesses and restaurants by using available curbside or delivery services. For a listing of businesses and current offerings, see the latest COVID-19 directory. Or, shop online through The Occoquan Marketplace on Facebook. The health and well-being of residents, patrons, merchants, and community is paramount.
