ORMA Blessing of the Fleet | May 21, 2022

The Blessing of the Fleet is a centuries-old tradition where receiving a blessing from the local clergy was meant to ensure a safe and bountiful season. Boats can be blessed simply by passing the Occoquan River Maritime Association blessing boat docked at Belmont Bay Harbor Marina between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
On May 21, at approximately 10:00 a.m., first responder boats on parade for the Blessing will pass into Occoquan waters, turn around near the town dock, and begin heading back downriver toward Belmont Bay Harbor Marina. The fire boat will lead the group, spraying a spectacular Water Salute for all to enjoy!
Interested spectators can view first responder boats from land at Town of Occoquan’s dock near Mamie Davis Park, as well as many restaurants/marinas along the Occoquan River.
