On March 18, 2022, upon completion of the choral department’s District IV assessment at Battlefield High School, Osbourn High School earned the Virginia Music Educators Association’s Blue Ribbon award. The VMEA Blue Ribbon Award is the highest award given to a school’s music program in the Commonwealth of Virginia and recognizes that achieve excellence in Band, Orchestra, and Choral Performance. All disciplines in a school must receive a rating of “Superior” at assessment to qualify for this award.
Osbourn previously earned the recognition in 2019, the last time assessments were held in District IV prior to the pandemic. It’s a testament to the leaders of the choral, band and orchestra departments that, despite a year and a half of virtual learning, the students in all three departments maintained their level of excellence to once again earn “Superior” ratings in their respective disciplines.
The Osbourn High School Choral Boosters are thrilled to able to celebrate this achievement with the return of the Spring Show, to be held in the OHS Auditorium Friday, April 29, 2022 and Saturday, April 30, 2022. The show will begin each evening at 7:00 p.m. The OHS Choral Department Spring Show is the primary fundraiser for the choral program. It has not been held since 2019 due to the pandemic.
Sponsorships are now being accepted for the Spring Show. Both individual and business/organization sponsorship opportunities are available to support the hard-working choral students of the award-winning music program at Osbourn High School.
