Dr. Yemonja Smalls and signs copies of her book “The Day it Rained” on Saturday at Center for the Arts. “The Day It Rained” is a story that peeks at Alzheimer’s disease through the eyes of a little girl. This is a love offering, rendered to present a unique interactive opportunity for open communication with children about what it means to continue to love someone who has dementia. Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra performs works by Wagner, Fauré, Grieg, Holst, and Elgar, featuring special guests Marcolivia. The 6th Annual Lucky Clover 5k starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday with a kids 1-mile fun run. The 5k begins at 9:00 a.m. The course is flat and family-friendly to strollers, walkers, and runners of all levels. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Wear your favorite festive costume for a chance to win a special Lucky Clover Prize! Prizes will be awarded Best Leprechaun and the Cutest Clover! The 21st Greater Manassas St. Patrick’s Day Parade presented by Inisfail, Inc. will march through Old Town Manassas, starting at the corner of Quarry Road and Prescott Avenue. Enjoy numerous pipes and drums bands, along with the Marine Corps Color Guard. Watch as Irish dance groups, Ancient Order of Hibernians Divisions, and other area groups and organizations celebrate the Grand Irish Tradition of the Feast of St. Patrick. The dancers from the Boyle School of Irish Dance will perform at Monza immediately following the parade. Monza is serving brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Seating is first come first served and the entire party must be present to be seated. Come on and get your Irish on!
