It’s Wednesday and we’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to give you the events happening in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally the next three weekends as we celebrate the holidays.

Ice Skating

Stonebridge’s ice rink is open! Pricing starts at $9.00 for kids, seniors, and military. Skate rental and skate aid is also available. Skate sessions are offered in 1.5 hour increments. First Day Hikes

Bring in the new year with a hike! Three local parks are offering hikes on Friday, Jan. 1. Visit the websites for social distancing information.

First Day Hike at Leesylvania State Park is a self-guided Sensory Scavenger Hunt. Bring in the New Year with a guided hike with local historians at Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park! You will start at the parking lot for a brief overview. Then walk down the 1863 Trail, and then the 1862 Trail before walking back to the parking lot. This 90 minute, three-mile hike will start the new year on the right foot. Welcome the New Year with a guided hike across Neabsco Creek with local naturalists and historians! Starting at the parking lot, guests head to Rippon Lodge Historic Site to view the 1747 homestead, then proceed to the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk and finish at the Julie J. Metz Neabsco Creek Wetlands.
