It’s Wednesday and we’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to give you the events happening in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally the next two weekends.

Farmers Market

The Weems-Botts Bibliophiles: Historical Horror

Historic Dumfries Virginia is excited to announce “The Weems-Botts Bibliophiles” via Zoom. The Executive Director will host this virtual presentation discussing foundational horror short stories. Ranky Tanky Digital Concert

Enjoy the 2020 Grammy® Award-winning quintet Ranky Tanky in a digital concert that is part folk, part funk, and totally fearless. When their outdoor concert had to be canceled in October, the Hylton Center recorded their concert onstage. With a sound that’s both playful and spiritual, this Charleston-based band specializes in jazz-influenced arrangements born from the Gullah culture of the Southeastern United States. Buy access pass here. Brunch with the Princesses

Join three of Disney’s most iconic princesses in the house; Rapunzel, Little Mermaid, and the Island Princess! They will perform some of their beloved songs, interact, and even teach some fun dances! Your child will also be provided with a fun at-table craft! Children will be served pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Adults will be served a fluffy Belgian waffle, bacon, and scrambled eggs. All tickets are $28. Children under 2 do not need a ticket purchased, but we do ask that you let us know if you have any in your party to ensure proper social distancing. The only people allowed to sit at your table are the people in your reservation, so please make sure to buy your tickets together if you plan on sitting together. Feisty, Friendly and Fearless: Women of the Lodge

Who were the women of Rippon Lodge? This special tour will focus on three or four of the ladies of Rippon Lodge, their lives, and their accomplishments, along with a look at the women they raised or who worked for them. Women’s History Tours at Brentsville Courthouse

Explore the role women played in the 19th Century from the perspective of Brentsville Courthouse. As we tour the site, learn about the woman’s role in the family, in society and how they lived. Hear about the different types of hardships they faced, such as during childbirth, a lack of rights, and more. Tours are limited to seven people per tour and masks are required.
