It’s Wednesday and we’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to give you the events happening in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally the next few weekends.

House of Mercy’s 15th Anniversary Celebration Food Truck Festival

Enjoy an afternoon of fun, food and prizes celebrating the 15th anniversary of the House of Mercy Food Pantry! Enjoy the best food Northern Virginia food trucks have to offer, along with raffles for prize baskets! Basket collection themes include baking, family movie night, family game night, wine night, teachers, ice cream, wedding, baby, Christmas, Fall/Halloween, Arts & Crafts, Teens and more! Goat Yoga Date Night

Reservations: eventbrite.com/e/goat-yoga-tickets-163740872357. There is no need to have any yoga experience for this class. Class focus is on breathing, relaxation, laughing and baby goats. Class is one hour with your own introductory snuggling time with the goats and after time to goat snuggle/photos, or just take in the beauty of the lake, birds and fish jumping. First Friday: Manassas Cooks!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Occoquan Plays in the Park presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream in River Mill Park. Come hang loose and dig a groovy 60s vibe as Castaways Repertory Theatre performs this classic on Labor Day weekend. The outdoor venue is perfect for this hilarious Shakespeare comedy about love. Bring your camp chairs or a blanket to enjoy the show. Directed by Terri Caretti. Get tickets here. 10th Annual Bands, Brews & Barbecue

Historic Downtown Manassas will hold its 10th Annual Bands, Brews, and Barbecue Festival on Sept. 4, 2021. This ticketed event features award winning craft beers and distilled spirits for sampling, some of Northern Virginia’s best barbecue for purchase, and incredible live music. Purchase tickets here. Fall Festival & Chili Cook-off

Brentsville Bluegrass Concert Series: King Street Blues

For hundreds of years, the Brentsville Public Lot has been a place of entertainment and festivities, and that tradition continues today! Bring your chairs, kick up your heels, and enjoy some Bluegrass and comfort food at the historic centre! Before the concert starts, self-guided tours will be available. Food and beverage will be available for purchase on-site. The lawn will be marked to help maintain social distancing, and face masks are required when indoors. Arts Alive! 2021

Hispanic Heritage Festival

Over 60 Artisan Vendors from Latin America, Family friendly activities for all ages. Academy of Dance to perform with groups from Columbia, Peru, Brazil and Puerto Rico. Children’s favorite characters, live music with Joe Faler , Ritmo Latino and Los Game Band along with Zumba with Rochi Bracale and Carolina Hernandiz.  Full day of fun for everyone!
