It’s Wednesday and we’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to give you the events happening in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally the next two weekends. Lots of Halloween and fall activities!

Trunk or Treat at Potomac Place

Head to Potomac Place for a howling good time at their Community Trunk or Treat. Put on your favorite costume, invite a friend to come by for some spooktacular goodies. Spirits & Spirits

Get ready for a scary, spooky good time during Occoquan’s Spirits and Spirits! For the adults and older brave kids, there’s a PG-13 Haunted Maze. For families and kids, there’s a costume parade and opportunities to vote for the best decorations, jack-o-lanterns, and costumes at your favorite businesses around town! Fireside Ghost Stories at Ben Lomond

Ben Lomond has a diverse and grim history from being a Civil War hospital to the home of countless slaves. Over the years, many local residents claimed to have seen ghosts and other spooky happenings at the site, claiming the site as haunted. Join us for an exciting and eerie evening around the campfire to hear some of the ghost stories associated with the historic site. Old Town Manassas Holiday Crafts, Desserts & Sweets

Come to a delectable excursion in the world of crafts, sweets and desserts! Because it’s Halloween Weekend, there will be a kids costume parade with a Best Costume prize from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m., as well as a pets Halloween costume event from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. | Manassas Museum Lawn, 9101 Prince William St., Manassas

Haunted Happenings

Grab the family and your dog and join Historic Manassas, Inc. and the Old Town Business Association for a wickedly good time in Historic Downtown Manassas. There’s a costume contest and more! Trunk or Treat

Ghosts, monsters, superheroes, and princesses are out and about. That could only mean one thing – it’s Halloween! Come out to the Community Center for an evening of fun and safe trunk or treating. Decorated vehicles will line up at the parking lot with their trunks open as they pass out candy to all the trick or treaters. National Capital Trackers Model Railroad Displays

The National Capital Trackers, a club of “O” Gauge electric train enthusiasts, will have their model trains running in Leatherneck Gallery. Come and see model railroad locomotives in action! Fall Gallery Walk

Come out and enjoy this FREE event! The merchants of Historic Downtown Manassas will be displaying artwork by local, featured artists. Follow the balloons to each destination. Nature Observation Lab and Craft Workshop: Ages 7-14

Learn the science behind collecting aquatic or terrestrial insects outdoors and identify important characteristics in a laboratory setting with experienced field biologists. You’ll also learn how to record data and share your observations. Follow up your scientific investigation with a fun craft to showcase your knowledge. Veterans Parade

The 2021 Northern Virginia Veterans Parade will honor area residents Lieutenant General Richard Natonski, USMC (ret.) and Corporal Adam Devine, USMC (ret.) as Grand Marshals. The parade is dedicated to former parade committee member Corporal Bryan Nason, USMC. The route, through Manassas, will follow Center Street and pass the reviewing stand at the Harris Pavilion.
