We’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to let you know what’s going on in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally over the coming weekends.

MLK Day of Service at the K-9 Gunner Memorial Park

PWC Dogs Inc is inviting community members in commemorating the life and memory of Dr. King, by caring for the community through a Day of Service.  Volunteers will help rake leaves and pick up any trash. All are welcome to participate. Be sure to dress for the temperature, and wear closed-toed shoes – this opportunity will be fully outside. Bring your shovels and rakes to help clean and spruce up the K9 Gunner Memorial Dog Park. Gloves, bags and buckets will be provided. Off the Wall Open House and Art Exhibit

The ARTfactory is pleased to present the 18th Annual Off the Wall High School Art Exhibit and Competition. This year’s exhibition features 40 student artists. Each year, area high school students (Manassas City and Prince William County) are invited to share their talent by participating in a high school art exhibit and competition sponsored by Lockheed Martin. The competition encourages student expression and creativity in a professional setting. King Day Oratorical Competition and Program

The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (PWCAC-DST), in affiliation with the Delta Research and Educational Foundation, will host its 32nd annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Youth Oratorical Competition and Program on the YouTube channel PWCAC-DST-MEDIA. This is a free virtual event. This year’s theme, ‘Beyond Dreams and Mountains:  Her Voice – Her Mission’, calls upon students to stretch their imaginations and bring inspirational meaning to Dr. King’s vision as seen through the eyes and work of women. The World of 1822 Tours at Brentsville Courthouse

Two hundred years ago, Brentsville opened as the County Seat of Prince William County and would serve as the social, political, and economic center of the County for 70 years. Start off the Brentsville Bicentennial year by taking a look at events of 1822 in Virginia, the United States, and around the globe through this walking tour of the historic town center! Enjoy an Afternoon with Colonel and Mrs. Richard Blackburn

Meet Col. Blackburn and his wife Mary as they discuss living in 18th century Prince William County and Colonial Virginia. What was it like to immigrate to Virginia and start a new life in the largest and wealthiest of England’s colonies? View life through the eyes of a member of the planter class and county politician, and learn about their friends, family, neighbors, servants, and slaves. Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella

A pumpkin coach, glass slipper, and well-fed mice are only a few of the requisite elements that bring this “happily ever after” tale to life. Enjoy musical favorites including In My Own Little Corner; Impossible, and Ten Minutes Ago. Goat Yoga

Join in the fun of goat yoga in the indoor yoga studio. This is a beginning-level yoga class. taught by an Alliance Yoga Instructor. There will be plenty of time for snuggling a baby goat and pictures. All instructors and handlers are Alliance Registered and will keep an eye out for you.
