We’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to let you know what’s going on in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally over the coming weekends.

KO Distilling Spirited Experience: Beauty of Bitters

An educational experience about whiskey, the history and making of bitters, and the importance of aromatics. Led by Executive Bourbon Steward Greg Rixon, with special guest speaker “Alchemy & a Twist.” Tickets include whiskey and bitters pairing, cocktail, light snacks, raffle ticket, and tour of distillery. Father’s Day Car Show

It’s Potomac Place’s second annual Charity Car Show! A fun way to spend part of Father’s Day weekend, with food and music, raffles and door prizes. Dog Days/Family Day at the Museum

Man’s best friend is taking over the National Museum of the Marine Corps! On the Museum’s parade deck, there will be several activities based on the vital role dogs play in the Marine Corps and the community. See working and service dog demonstrations and meet therapy dog and rescue dog organizations. Juneteenth Poetry Jam

This free virtual event (hosted on Zoom) is open to the worldwide community and will feature Ms. Kim B. Miller again, the first African American Poet Laureate for Prince William County. Many other poets (both professional and amateur) will be part of the program as well. Bethel AME Church welcomes poets of all ages to share their poetry – young people are encouraged to participate. Jazz Festival

Evening of Jazz. Set with a 1930s Cotton Club atmosphere, bringing you an intimate evening featuring headline jazz artists Marcus Johnson, battling pianos by local band Velvet Storm and comedian Doug Scott, who will also emcee the event. Movie in the Park

Kayak & Wine Festival

Presented by ACT3 Explorations. Includes one hour kayaking on the Occoquan River, wine flights (entrees can be purchased separately), entry into a raffle to win a bottle of wine or a Mandala State T-Shirt, and free takeaway items. Manassas Bee Festival
