We’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to let you know what’s going on in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally over the coming weekends.

Supervisor Candland Presents Patriots Day

All are invited for fireworks and fun to honor public safety personnel. Games and activities available for the entire family. Bring your own blanket/chairs. Food available onsite for purchase. Friday, July 1, 5:00 to 9:30 p.m. | Catharpin Park, 12500 Kyle Wilson Way, Catharpin

Family FUN Carnival

Come enjoy games and activities on the Midway. And don’t forget to save room for the food: fried dough, fresh sausage, funnel cakes, corn dogs, candy apples, ice cream and so much more! Weather and other factors may decide closing times daily. Wristband specials available. Unlimited rides: valid during operation. Admission tickets at the entrance. Face masks optional. Friday, July 1 through Sunday, July 10. Yard Sale

Interested in selling your stuff? Come to Pat White Center and they will provide you with a spot and a locally advertised event. Used household items only. No commercial sales, live flowers or food and drink sales of any kinds. Saturday, July 2, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon | Pat White Center at Ben Lomond, 10501 Copeland Drive, Manassas

Dale City Independence Day Parade & Family Fun Day

The Dale City Civic Association partners with ten other organizations to put on “one of the best parades in Prince William County.” Come for the parade, stay for the family fun. Sunday, July 3 | Dale Blvd., Dale City

Celebrate America

The celebration surrounds the Historic Downtown Manassas train depot, the Harris Pavilion and the Manassas Museum. There will be great rides for the kids starting at 3:00 p.m. The rest of the fun, face painter, caricature artist, food concessions and novelty vendors will begin at 4:00 p.m.  Participate in the watermelon eating contest, bike decorating contest and pie baking contest. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come early to get the best seats on the Manassas Museum Lawn for the firework display at 9:15 p.m.! Manassas Park 4th of July Celebration

Vettes for Vets

The third annual Corvette show hosted by Willing Warriors is organized by Chuck Berge, a nationally recognized expert, judge, and appraiser of Corvettes since 1988. Craft & Create: Planter Pots for Pollinators
