We’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to let you know what’s going on in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally over the coming weekends.

Sweet Delilah Swim Club

Rooftop Productions presents The Sweet Delilah Swim Club by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. Five Southern women, whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside a long weekend every August to recharge those relationships. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage, the “Sweet Delilah” on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh, and meddle in each other’s lives. THE SWEET DELILAH SWIM CLUB is the story of these five unforgettable women. Friday, July 15 and 22; Saturday, July 16 and 23, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, July 17 and 24, 3:00 p.m. | ARTfactory Kellar Family Theatre, 9419 Battle Street, Manassas

All That Fly: Birds, Butterflies and More

Come to Leopold’s Preserve in Haymarket for a guided naturalist walk focused on things that fly, including colorful birds, butterflies, dragonflies, and damselflies. Free and open to all! Saturday, July 16, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon | Leopold’s Preserve, 16290 Thoroughfare Road, Broad Run

Artist Talk – Zsudayka Nzinga

“The Many Rooms” is a collection of mixed media pieces by DC artist Zsudayka Nzinga. Based on the scripture, “In my Father’s house there are many mansions/rooms” John 14, Nzinga observes experiences in her home and with family just prior to the pandemic through the new year. Finding inspiration from the little moments, Nzinga draws from the richness of American Black culture. Saturday, July 16, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. | ARTfactory, 9419 Battle Street, Manassas
