It’s Wednesday and we’re over the hump! We’re here twice a month to let you know what’s going on in the area each weekend. Here are just a few of the events happening locally over the coming weekends.

The Raleigh Ringers

The Manassas Symphony Orchestra presents the Raleigh Ringers at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. Under the direction of David M. Stage, Screen and All Things In Between

Every Day Full of Work: The African American Experience at Ben Lomond

Before the Civil War, enslaved men and women lived and worked at the Ben Lomond farm. Visitors will be able to explore the historic home and the original slave quarter to learn about the daily life of African Americans and can visit spaces not ordinarily open to the public. Additionally, visitors can experience the interactive virtual reality exhibit in the Ben Lomond Slave Quarters. Tours offered at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.; $5 per person, children 6 and under free. Rippon Lodge Deco Game Day

Shall we play a game? Discover the games the Ellises played at lawn parties at Rippon Lodge. Croquet, badminton and bache ball are three fun games for groups of three or more. Manassas Out of the Darkness Community Walk

The Out of the Darkness Community Walk is a journey of remembrance, hope, and support. It unites our communities and provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions have affected our lives and the lives of those we love and care about. Learn more, register and support: afsp.org/Manassas. Bands, Brews & BBQ

Historic Downtown Manassas will hold this annual festival, complete with a chance to ride a mechanical bull and try your hand at some axe throwing! Put those tossing skills to work and participate in a fun corn hole competition with a chance to win a trophy. Of course, there will be plenty of food, and drinks will be flowing while live bands play during the entire event.  Saturday, Sept. 10, 10:00 a.m. and Sunday, Sept. 11, 10:00 a.m. | Manassas Museum Lawn, 9101 Prince William Street, Manassas

Stonebridge Fall Fest & Chili Cookoff

A day of community fun at the Chili Cook-Off and Fall Fest at the beautiful Stonebridge Town Center in Woodbridge.  With over 150 vendors, food and non-food, there is something for everyone.  Come by early and sample the chili.  VOTE for your favorite. Arts Alive 2022!
