It’s Wednesday and we’re Over the Hump! That means we’re looking forward to weekend events in Prince William and Manassas!

Outdoor Fun

Prince William Conservation Alliance needs help to protect high quality wildlife habitats and improve community appearance at the Minnieville Buffer. Meet in the parking lot of K9 Gunner Dog Park (near the intersection of Minnieville Road and Colby Drive, Woodbridge). Saturday’s focus is on removing nonnative invasive plants. Please dress for working – long pants, sturdy shoes, and a hat. Gloves and garden tools will be available; please feel free to bring yours if you prefer. Bring a smile and a bottle of water! The Haymarket Music Fest is Saturday afternoon. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a day of music from Six Shades of Gray, Park Valley Church Youth Band, School of Rock, Joe Moore and Smylin’ Jack! Other events include a silent auction, kid zone, crafters, Beer Garden by 2 Silos, and an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Not Just for Kids

Head over to the Irene V. Hylton Planetarium and travel with Jack and Annie, stars of the Magic Tree House® best-selling children’s book series, as they search for answers to a mysterious riddle they discover in a written note signed “–M.” Viewers peek into the treehouse and follow Jack and Annie on an exciting adventure as they meet a helpful astronomer and an astronaut. The Arts

The Prince William Community Band presents “Music You Didn’t Know You Knew” on Sunday afternoon. Melodies from movies, TV shows and even commercials have been used many times over and some have interesting beginnings. Come listen and challenge your knowledge of where various music originated and see how many you can guess correctly. Bring a lawn chair and stay for ice cream! Fitness and Beer
