Outdoor Fun

The 2019 World Heritage Festival is making its final stop of the year at the Manassas Museum! Several food vendors will showcase ethnic food, fresh smoothies and traditional beverages. Enjoy a cultural performance show with folk dances from Bolivia, Brazil, Egypt, Hungary, India, Japan, Lebanon, Romania, Turkey and much more! Take an exploratory walk down the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk. Explore the residents of this ecosystem up close and personal, and along the way will discover why the wetlands are important to every living thing. Additional information and registration here. Have you always wanted to go camping? Come celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Leesylvania by camping out with friends and familia. Enjoy fun ranger-led programs such as canoeing on Powells Creek, a night hike on a trail, stargazing under the cool summer night, and a warm campfire program with delicious s’mores. If you have your own canoe or kayak, you are more than welcome to bring it. Please register 24 hours in advance by calling the visitor center at (703) 583-6904. For Families and Women

Families are invited to learn about the use of robotics in the Marine Corps!  Children will be able to participate in robotic themed activities. Partners from area robotics labs and universities will be on hand with live demonstrations. Join the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Auxiliary, Virginia for an enlightening event and hear from dynamic speakers on how women can contribute to the peace process at the Women’s Peace Symposium. Female faith leaders and representatives of secular organizations will lead the discussion. This is a “ladies only” event. Register here. Brew Republic’s monthly beer and yoga class is a basic 60 minute Vinyasa Flow suitable for beginners and experienced students. Participants will enjoy basic and advanced poses, hand on assists and learn breathing techniques so you are ready to be more mindful when it comes to the beer tasting! Mats, blocks and towels are provided; bring your own mat if you have one as well as a water bottle. $20 per person includes class and a post-yoga pour of any beer on tap.
