It’s Wednesday and we’re Over the Hump! Here are a few things to look forward to this weekend:

The 69th Annual Prince William County Fair opens on Friday and runs through Saturday, Aug. 18. Come see a petting zoo, 4H exhibits, wine tastings, local crafters and vendors, a demolition derby, a three-ring super circus, camel and pony rides, hot rod rockers, mechanical bull rides – and that’s just the first day! The Town of Occoquan is pleased to welcome the District of Columbia National Guard with a special presentation by The 257th Army Band, the Band of the Nation’s Capital at River Mill Park.  In case of rain, call 703-491-2168 two hours before the event for cancellation information, or see the Town of Occoquan Facebook page: facebook.com/townofoccoquan. If you’re shopping at the Wal-Mart in Haymarket on Saturday, consider picking up some extra socks, chapstick, cough drops, or travel snacks for the Hope in a Bag Donation Drive. Agape Love in Action will be collecting these items all day long. Saturday, Aug. 11, 8:00 a. m. – 6:30 p. m. | Wal-Mart, 6530 Trading Square, Haymarket 

Visit the National Museum of the Marine Corps for Family Day: Awesome Aviation. This month, they’ve got a program of family-friendly activities teaching about Marine Corps aviation. Saturday, Aug. 11, 12:00-3:00 p. m. | National Museum of the Marine Corps, 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway, Triangle 

During the spring and summer, osprey dominate the skies over Leesylvania State Park as they build nests and raise their young. Brew Republic Bierwerks has a lot of fun on tap on Sunday! There’s Sunday Funday, for Sunday comfort food, pro sports on the TVs, board games, hot and BBQ chicken wings, $5 mimosas, and of course, beer! Bring your family – kids eat free every Sunday. Don’t forget the Farmers Markets in Historic Downtown Manassas and at Potomac Mills Mall! These run every Saturday through October.
