The Prince William Department of Parks and Recreation is looking to hire 500 seasonal employees and will be holding three job fairs this month to find people to work in positions throughout the department.

“Seasonal job opportunities offer flexible hours in both indoor and outdoor working environments,” said Lisa Frankel, Human Resources Specialist at Parks & Recreation. “We have open positions for life guards, camp counselors, food and beverage concessions, and grounds maintenance technicians.”

Following are dates and times for the three job fairs:

  • SplashDown Waterpark Job Fair will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second floor at Stonewall Jackson High School at 8820 Rixlew Lane in Manassas. Hiring managers will be present to interview for all open positions at SplashDown Waterpark.
  • Lifeguard Job Fair will be held on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center, 13025 Chinn Park Drive in Woodbridge. Applicants must bring a swimsuit to change into for the required swimming test. Hiring managers from community pools, Waterworks, SplashDown, Veterans Memorial Park, Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center and Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center pools will be in attendance.
  • Parks & Recreation Seasonal Job Fair will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center at 14300 Minnieville Road in Dale City. This job fair is for summer positions at all Parks & Recreation locations. Applicants will have the opportunity to meet with hiring managers for life guards, concessions, marina attendants, batting cages, camps, rangers and park services.

Applicants, 14 and older, must complete an online application at www.pwcgov.org/jobs and bring a hard copy with them to the job fairs.

Bernadette O’Keefe, General Manager of Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center, said people who are looking for seasonal work should know it’s a good idea to go to the job fairs. “The benefits are that you get to meet the hiring managers right then and there.”
