Congratulations to Zoree Jones, a rising senior at Patriot High School. She received first place in the nation for public speaking at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Competition. The competition was held June 29-July 2, in San Antonio, Texas. Zoree competed against more than 100 other public speaking category finalists from across the United States and other countries.

The FBLA National Awards Program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. FBLA competitive events also prepare students for successful careers in business by providing opportunities to apply classroom concepts in a workforce-simulated competitive environment. Students qualify by competing at state leadership conferences in events testing their business knowledge and skills.

A talented speaker and writer, Zoree has also been recognized with a Junior Achievement of Greater Washington Essay Competition Award. She has received recognition multiple times at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Contest, among other achievements.
