Occoquan’s fun-filled week of spring events returns April 12 through 17. Get ready to enjoy Peep Week throughout the riverside town, with three fun ways to participate.
The Peep Show
The community determines the winners! Come check out the creativity of our local business owners. Occoquan’s famous Peep Show is well-known and loved by all ages. Stroll through the historic district and vote for your favorite PEEPS® dioramas, made by and displayed at Occoquan businesses. Cast your vote at participating businesses and enter to win a PEEPS® basket of goodies.
Occoquan Community Peep Contest
It’s time to dig deep and pull out your creativity. Occoquan’s fifth annual Peep Contest is accepting entries through April 11. Design, create and submit your best family friendly PEEPS® diorama. Will your PEEPS® be basking in the sun on a summer shore? Serving up a delight in a quaint coffee shop? Or perhaps hunting for jellybean eggs in a miniature River Mill Park?
Winners will be chosen in one of four categories: Individual, Family/Team, Youth (ages 12-16), and Kids (12 and under). Register online to participate and read full contest rules and instructions. The contest is open to all ages but limited to one entry per category.
Get out the vote! While you are in town voting for your favorite dioramas at businesses, stop by Town Hall, April 12 to16, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to cast a ballot for entries provided by our friends and neighbors. Town Hall is located at 314 Mill Street. Winners will be announced at 4:00 p.m. on April 16 and will each receive a $50 Occoquan gift card.
Shop Late in Occoquan
The town planned something special to finish out Peep Week, as well. How about a little late-night shopping? Back by popular demand, the town’s first spring Shop Late night will be Saturday, April 16! Many businesses will be open until 8:00 p.m. or later, so take advantage of the later hours to check out all the spring things popping up all over town.
