(Prince William County, VA, 06/24/2013)… The Library Board of Trustees, Dick Murphy, Library System Director, and the Library Foundation Board of Directors invite the public to the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Potomac Library Public Patio on Saturday, June 29th, 10:00 a.m. at 2201 Opitz Boulevard in Woodbridge, VA.
This newly completed patio area behind the Potomac Library is open to the public during normal business hours and will provide tables and chairs, free WiFi service, a play yard for the kids, as well as library programs. This 39-year-old building is now renovated to include windows from floor to ceiling and rearranging inside reading spaces to face the patio. In support of the patio, the Library Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, donated $10,000 for the purchase of the windows and the Potomac Friends of the Library donated $5,000 for the furniture.
Also, in support of the project, the Library Foundation is selling engraved brick pavers that line the patio. The pavers can be purchased for $100 each for a 4×8 and a 8×8 bricks can be purchased for $250.00. The pavers can be engraved in honor of or in memory of family members, friends, and volunteers. Thanks to Supervisor Principi, the patio is lined with the most popular books checked out at Potomac last year.
