The Prince William Art Society is proud to announce the 2013 recipients of the Jewell Pratt Burns scholarships for 2013. Each year the Art Society gives scholarships to graduating seniors in Prince William County High Schools that are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or Art Education.
This year’s winners are Catherine Winings from Woodbridge Senior High School who won a $1,000 scholarship. Catherine will be attending the Art Institute of Chicago. And Jared Goodman from Brenstville High School who won a $500 scholarship. Jared will be attending the Art Institute of Washington-Dulles. Congratulations to these two local artists.
Fran Pennington, the president of the Prince William Art Society, and Jewell Pratt Burns, the scholarship honoree, were both on hand to present the scholarships at the art society’s monthly meeting in May.
