kpwbKeep Prince William Beautiful, Inc. (KPWB) coordinated its annual Prince William County Route 1 Corridor Cleanup on Saturday, April 20 with 40 volunteers. With the purpose of celebrating Earth Day and reducing the amount of litter throughout Prince William County; KPWB partnered with Top Ladies of Distinction Inc., Top Teens of America, Woodbridge Potomac Communities Civic Association and Supervisor Frank Principi’s office.

As a way of celebrating Earth Day, volunteers removed 1,180 pounds of litter and recyclables over a span of 13 miles along the Route 1 Corridor. “The cleanup was a success, with volunteers staying committed and learning about litter education…[while]staying active and being involved in the community” stated Zara Mahmood George Mason University Intern for Keep Prince William Beautiful, Inc.

With a wide variety of events in Prince William County, Keep Prince William Beautiful partners with residents and businesses to create and maintain a clean, beautiful, sustainable environment in Prince William County.
