Prince William Board of County Supervisors Commends Alger “Al” Mockaitis and Samir A. Alqutri

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently commended Alger “Al”  Mockaitis for his service to the Prince William County Building Code Appeals Board.

Mockaitis, who was appointed to the appeals board in 1996, used his extensive experience as a licensed contractor to support the board in its review of building code appeals cases. Mockaitis’ unique perspective and input proved invaluable to the appeals board’s deliberations.

Mockaitis, who is retiring to spend more time with his family, leaves a legacy of advocacy and support for the fair and equitable enforcement of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.

Prince William Board of County Supervisors also commended Samir A. Alqutri for his service to the Prince William County Building Code Appeals Board.

Alqutri, who has served on the board since 2008, holds a  Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering and has more than 25 years’ experience working in the Civil Engineering Industry. Alqutri used his education and  experience to support the board in their technical review of building code appeals cases.

A licensed professional engineer since 1999, Alqutri provided invaluable input into the deliberations of the appeals board and offered a unique perspective to aid the appeals board in its decisions.

Alqutri leaves a legacy of advocacy and support for the fair and equitable enforcement of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code. He resigned from the appeals board to spend more time with his family and other work projects.
