Businesses in Prince William County play a pivotal role in creating jobs and innovative technologies while employing a diverse workforce to preserve the economic well-being of all county residents.

Economic opportunity, innovation and talent form the foundation of a growing economy, and county residents benefit from the entrepreneurial spirit of businesses in the county, according to the proclamation.

The County is home to more than 10,000 businesses, which provide more than 130,000 jobs to residents. The Prince William Board of County Supervisors (BOCS) is calling attention to and acknowledging the impact businesses have on the local economy.

The Board recently proclaimed May 2022 as Business Appreciation Month. The Prince William County Department of Economic Development (PWCDED) invited the following businesses, all recipients of BOCS-approved recovery efforts over the last two years, to be present at the ceremony to accept the proclamation:

The BOCS further recognized the accomplishments of existing businesses, entrepreneurs, small, minority and women-owned businesses, nonprofits and the major employers that contribute to the county’s economic recovery.

As part of month-long celebration, PWCDED is embracing the theme of Re!magine, recognizing the resiliency, ingenuity, and creativity of the Prince William County business community.

In addition to showcasing small businesses, the department is focusing on the targeted industries of government contracting, information technology, and life sciences for showcase storytelling. Follow on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
