The Prince William County (PW) NAACP is proud to announce that Nijiama Smalls, currently serving as 1st Vice President, will assume the role of Branch President following the departure of Rev. Dr. Karl Brower. This transition marks an exciting new chapter for the branch as it continues its vital work advancing civil rights and social justice throughout Prince William County.
The PW NAACP extends its deepest gratitude to Rev. Dr. Karl Brower for his dedicated leadership, steadfast commitment to justice, and the lasting impact he has made on the branch and the broader community. His service has strengthened the foundation upon which this branch will continue to grow.

About Nijama Smalls
Nijiama Smalls is a trailblazing leader, healer, and advocate whose life’s work is centered around empowering Black women and girls. She is the Executive Director and Founder of The Black Girl Healing Project, an organization dedicated to providing healing resources and spaces for Black women and girls navigating emotional wounds and systemic trauma.
She is the published author of The Black Girl’s Guide to Healing Emotional Wounds, a best-selling resource that has resonated with readers across the country seeking tools for emotional restoration and self-discovery.
A proud member of Mocha Moms, Inc. and a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Ms. Smalls brings the values of family, sisterhood, service, and scholarship to every endeavor. She is the devoted wife of Pastor Shamon Smalls of Zion Church Woodbridge, and a proud mother of two.
With her extensive background in community leadership, mental health advocacy, and civic engagement, Nijiama Smalls is uniquely positioned to lead the PW NAACP into its next chapter of impact.
