Fall & Halloween Festivals, Events and Tours:
10/1 – 10/31 Lake Ridge Nursery Pumpkin Patch (Woodbridge) Pitch out the perfect pumpkin for carving or colorful mums for your garden at the Lake Ridge Nursery pumpkin patch this October.
10/1 – 10/30 Yankee Farms Pumpkin Patch (Nokesville) Explore the corn maze, take a ride on the cow train and let the kids run around the farmyard activity area before heading home with your perfect fall pumpkins at Yankee Farm.
10/4 – 10/26 Haunted Wine Tours at The Winery at Bull Run (Bull Run) A lantern-led walking tour and full wine tasting through the historic and hallowed grounds of The Winery at Bull Run will be offered every Thursday and Friday night in October.
10/5 Fireside Ghost Stories at Ben Lomond (Manassas) Ben Lomond has a diverse and grim history serving as a Civil War hospital and to the home of countless slaves. Over the years, many local residents claim to have seen ghosts and other spooky happenings at the site.
10/6 Overnight Stay Brentsville Jail (Bristow) From 1822 to 1893, the Brentsville jail housed numerous people awaiting trial and their fate. – Prisoners were accused of crimes from theft to poisoning and even murder.
10/6 – 10/27 Ghost Walks at Weems-Botts Museum (Dumfries) Hear Ghost Stories during a guided outdoor walking tour, check out historic and paranormal detection device and enjoy spooky hot cocoa and cider in eerie Merchant Park.
10/6 Halloween Cookie Class at Simply Desserts (Gainesville) Students will receive a demonstration and step by step instructions in how to make royal icing and outlining their Halloween cookies. Each student will receive 10 cookies to decorate and take home.
10/12 – 10/28 The Death Trail (Dumfries) As dusk settles around the foggy woods near Dumfries, shadows begin to move through the trees. It quickly becomes clears why only the brave and foolish are willing to test fate along these dark and twisting trails. Come and experience it for yourself!
10/19 – 10/21 Haunted Walking Tour and Tea Leaf Reading at 13 Magickal Moons (Occoquan) Tea time is a peaceful and leisurely experience that is the perfect setting for a tea leaf reading with treats and sweets.
10/20 – 10/31 Haunted Laurianne Woods (Gainesville) Spend an evening exploring this haunted trail in Gainesville to get into the Halloween Spirit this October! With a variety of surprises and scared around every corner it will surely be an evening to remember.
10/20 Dumfries Fall Festival (Dumfries) Dumfries fall festival is an annual outdoor family oriented event. There will be lots of fun for kids and adults. There’s food, entertainment, vendors and more!
10/20 Haunted Campfire at Rippon Lodge (Woodbridge) The best spooky stories are told by campfire. Join Rippon Lodge’s Haunted Campfire and hear long lost, ghostly tales of Virginia while surrounded by the darkness.
10/27 Haunt of the Town of Occoquan Short Tours (Occoquan) Celebrate “Haunt the Town” with a short 45-minute walking, ghost tours of Occoquan, starting at 11:00 a. m. and running through 5:00 p m. at every hour.
10/27 Hospital Horrors at Ben Lomond Historic Site (Manassas) Ben Lomond has a grim history as serving as a Confederate Field Hospital after the Battle of First Manassas. Come experience a unique opportunity to tour the house and grounds in the recreated hospital and hear the stories of soldiers, doctors, and loved ones who were forever changed during the Civil War.

10/6 Will Ackerman, Hylton Performing Arts Center (GMU Campus – Manassas) Acoustic guitar enthusiasts will not want to miss this intimate evening of guitar mastery with Grammy Award®-winning recording artist and producer, Will Ackerman.
10/12 Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Hylton Performing Arts Center (GMU Campus – Manassas) Travel back to the era of big bands and dancehalls when Benny Goodman was “The King of Swing” with “Renaissance” clarinetist Eddie Daniels and Northern Virginia’s treasured favorite, the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra.
10/28 Chinese Warriors of Peking, Hylton Performing Arts Center (GMU Campus – Manassas) Chinese Warriors of Peking Sunday, October 28 at 4:00 p. m. in Merchant Hall. Direct from The People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Warriors of Peking is an acclaimed martial arts and acrobatic company whose award-winning “Slack Wire” act has toured the world with Cirque du Soleil.

10/5 Guy’s Night at La Grange (Haymarket) Weather permitting the Winery at La Grange team will light up the bonfire and have a mobile cigar vendor on site, live music and food truck for their Guys night event.
10/6 & 10/20 – Beach Campfire at Freestone Point (Woodbridge) Join a Park Ranger for a campfire program next to a warm fire on the beach to listen to stories, sing along to classical silly campfire songs, play music, and present skits. Bring your own S’mores and lots of energy to have fun.
10/6 -10/7 Oysterfest at The Farm Brewery at Broad Run (Haymarket) On Oct. 6 and 7, The Farm Brewery at Broad Run is teaming up with CJ Finz to host an oyster fest! The oysters will be paired with some of their delicious farm brews. Fresh oysters, live music, delicious beer- you don’t want to miss this!
10/12 8th Annual Night Golf and Bingo Event at Piedmont Club (Haymarket) Join the Rotary Gainesville Haymarket Club for nine holes of night golf under the stars at Piedmont Club. Entrance fee includes dinner reception & beverages, beer and wine, glow in the dark balls, raffle prizes, photo booth, silent auction, goodies bags.
10/13 Chris Stapleton at Jiffy Lube Live (Bristow) Spend a crisp Fall evening under the stars at Jiffy Lube Live listing to world class country music by Chris Stapleton also featuring the musical stylings from Mary Stuart and Brent Cobb.

10/18 Books on Tap at BadWolf Brewing Company (Manassas) Books and beer pair perfectly in this book club hosted by BadWolf and Prince William Public Libraries.
10/20 Haymarket Day (Haymarket) Haymarket’s biggest event of the year! Attended by over 35,000 spectators and 270 vendors. Visitors can enjoy a hometown street festival including: a parade featuring local schools, performers, and law enforcement, led by the year’s Town Marshal, as well as dozens of vendors, entertainers, and culinary options.
10/20 October Wine Dinner at The Winery at La Grange (Haymarket) Join us with Chef Sergio Cabrera as he pairs his courses with La Grange wines! Tickets will become available when a menu is posted so keep an eye out!
10/20 Run & Beer 5k/10k at the Prince William County Fairgrounds (Manassas)Hosted by Brew Republic Bierwerks and More Miles, More Fun Races. The race date is set! Run and Beer Happy at this 5k/10k race. On-site parking, finish festival including beer and food trucks, plus stroller and dog friendly!
10/20 Potomac Blockade Boat Tour at Leesylvania State Park (Woodbridge) Cruise along the Potomac River shoreline and view sites that were critical to the Confederate forces’ successful blockade of Washington D.C. from September 1861 through March 1862. Local historians will discuss the significance of the blockade and the gun batteries and camps.
