By Rebecca Barnes, Publisher, Prince William Living
Jalissa Henderson has been nominated for the Prince William Living Influential Women Award for her inclusive leadership and community-centered approach to business.
As General Manager of Urban Air, Jalissa helped launch and grow the Woodbridge and Gainesville locations with a vision that extended beyond entertainment. “Urban Air wasn’t just a business venture for her—it was a community mission,” her nominator shared.
She implemented sensory-friendly hours to support children with sensory sensitivities and actively collaborates with schools, nonprofits, and community groups through fundraisers and inclusive programming, including a planned Deaf Awareness Day.
Her nomination also highlights her personal leadership style. “We are not just a number or a customer to her,” her nominator wrote. “We are part of a community that she’s working hard to pull together.”
Jalissa Henderson is being nominated for leading with heart, listening with intention, and creating spaces where families feel seen and included.
